Yes, we use only real, fresh, high-quality hazelwood from our Quebec forests. It’s more important to talk about fresh wood as opposed to real wood. All hazel wood is real; however, various lower quality products are available on the market. For us, freshness is essential at all times.
After a while, people often have the impulse to remove their necklace or bracelet since their acidity-related symptoms have been relieved. We recommend keeping it on at all times, even when symptoms are gone.
Hazelwood objects have a life span of three months. After that, it’s time to change your necklace or bracelet. Here’s a little trick, change them with the seasons! One necklace or bracelet (or even both!) per season and your products will always be at optimum efficiency. Make the most of changing your necklace or bracelet by trying new colors.
Hazel is an alkaline wood with basic pH properties. When the ends of the wood pieces become dark or greyish and this colour spreads through the surface of the wood pieces, it’s time to change your bracelet or necklace as it’s no longer effective. The string will also change colour, becoming dull and acidified.
People often ask which wood they should choose. Our hazel wood corresponds to quality criteria that have been established over our 30 years of experience–the quality behind our proven success and trendy look for clients of all ages.
Hazel wood does the work by itself. Decorative beads always embellish a necklace or bracelet, but they must never have a greater circumference than the wood as hazel works by being in contact with skin. Stones or beads of any type that have a greater circumference than the wood must be kept for other types of decorative necklaces as they will undoubtedly affect the necklace or bracelet’s efficiency. Also, when the wood completely covers the diameter of the beads the necklace/bracelet is stronger and more durable.
Wood that is too dark or grizzled is almost dead and a poor choice by the maker. This makes the necklace ineffective and will break or decay easily. Great big and tall hazel shoots are still the best choice. Quebec’s forests are full of them! They’re our first choice! We use only light (fresh) wood from young hazel shoots. Not all hazel branches are good for making hazel wood products. We carefully select our branches and leave the wood that is too dark, grizzled, or looks dry and dull to the forest. Obviously, we don’t use the same hazel wood piece circumference for making a necklace for a woman, adolescent, or man. Each product category has its own size and, in this way, the look remains attractive and appropriate.
Several of our loyal clients like to wear a matching necklace and bracelet in hazelwood or in hazelwood & amber, which is very unique and much appreciated.
The necklaces’ effectiveness is never altered by contact with water. It is important, however, to keep in mind that hazel wood is … wood! If it is immersed in water for too long, it may peel and fade slightly. To maintain your necklace’s original appearance and increase its lifespan, it is preferable to remove it before bathing or swimming.
All babies are different so we made this handy proper sizing guide, You can use a piece of yarn or string at home and measure your child’d neck circumference. It’s important to get the right size for safety and also to prevent your little one from pulling on it.
Always have them wear it against their skin, under their clothing. The hazel wood necklace must be in contact with the skin. It should not be confused with teething rings that babies can bite.
As early as four months old, even sooner in some cases, babies start to show the first signs of teething. They put their fist in their mouth and they drool more. Whenever your baby shows these signs, it’s time to try a hazelwood necklace. After a few days, infants will no longer notice they’re wearing the necklace. Your baby will sleep peacefully, and so will you!
